Generations Bank announces plans for Women’s History Walk of Fame in Seneca Falls

Generations Bank CEO Menzo Case announced yesterday plans for a Women’s History Walk of Fame in town. The eleven bronze plaques have been created to honor women of distinction in multiple categories in which their work is most recognized in: Social Justice, Military, Arts, STEM, Pioneers, Business, and Athletics. The plaques were funded in conjunction with the Right to Run 19K, Inc. and will be placed in front of businesses in downtown Seneca Falls, where they are planned to be installed in the sidewalks to resemble the “Hollywood Walk of Fame.”” The first of the eleven plaques will be placed in the Generations Bell Park located on the corner of East Bayard Street and White Street.

Town Assessor Announces Mailing of New Assessment Values

As part of the Assessment Equity Improvement Project 2023, New Preliminary Full Value Assessments will be mailed to all Property Owners within the Town.

Town of Seneca Falls Assessor Deborah VonWald announces beginning March 6, 2023, Assessment Disclosure Notices will be mailed to all property owners within the town. Instructions will be included with each notice indicating the procedure for submitting an informal review, how to obtain forms and where to get additional information. 

Assessor VonWald reminds property owners to focus on the full market value estimate. If you do not agree with this estimate and can offer proof for a change, you can follow the process of submitting an informal review. Information regarding property assessments, inventory data and sale information will be available beginning March 7th by visiting the Town Assessor’s page.

Town Assessor Shares Summary of 2023 Reassessment Meeting

The Town of Seneca Falls Assessor held an informational meeting last week regarding the upcoming town reassessment. Town Reassessment Informational Meeting to be held on February 28

The Town of Seneca Falls will hold an informational meeting to discuss the reassessment project with residents. The community is welcome to attend and join the discussion. The meeting will be held at the Seneca Falls Community Center located at 35 Water Street. Reports Issued from NY Office of State Comptroller review on Town’s Past Audits and Implementation of Recommendations

On February 17, 2023, the Office of the State Comptroller released two reports to the Town of Seneca Falls as a result of its review of past audit recommendations and to gauge the town’s progress implementing those improvements.These reports are of the public record and therefore the Town is making them available to the community.

In January, the NY Office of the State Comptroller issued a statement outlining their plan to review five areas of recommendation made in September 2019 and issued in report 2018M-144-F, which identified certain conditions and opportunities for the Board’s review and consideration.The Town will continue to implement the recommendations shared while striving toward a more practical, efficient and continuously transparent administration for future growth.

Town Highway department seeks seasonal cemetery laborers

The Town of Seneca Falls is currently seeking to fill four (4) seasonal positions cemetery laborers within the Highway Department. Qualified applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by Monday, April 3, 2023.

All applicants are required to complete the Seneca County Civil Service application below and remit to the Seneca Falls Interim Highway Superintendent for consideration.
