Lieutenant Timothy Snyder serves as the second in command within the police department to the Chief of Police. He is the immediate commander of the road patrol division and direct supervisor of patrol sergeants. Lieutenant Snyder oversees the criminal investigation division and assists the investigators with facilitating investigations with outside agencies.
He works closely with the Chief of Police in studying crime reports, use of force reports, and current legislature in law enforcement to determine trends, and makes recommendations for changes in organizational and operating policies and procedures. He also manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs.
Lieutenant Snyder oversees the activities of the police department personnel in their efforts to preserve order, protect life and property, investigate crimes and enforce laws. He monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures and recommends, within departmental policy, appropriate actions. He serves as the departments NYS Accreditation Manager and as the internal affairs administrator for the department.
