Criminal Investigation

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is comprised of two members with both reporting to the Lieutenant. The role of CID is to adopt and/or assist with cases developed by the Road Patrol Division or assigned directly that require specialized investigative techniques and/or cases that are lengthy-time consuming investigations that are outside of the scope of patrol. Typically, these involve investigations into Deaths, Child Abuse, Sex Offenses, Burglary, Robbery, Serious Assault and those where the victim sustained significant financial loss.

Members of CID conduct background investigations into all candidates for employment with the police department. Additionally, members of CID work closely with federal, state and other local agencies to conduct investigations into the sale of illicit drugs and child exploitation. Each investigator is trained as evidence technicians and one is on-call 24/7 to respond as needed to an incident.
