Frank E. Schmitter

As Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Seneca Falls, Town Supervisor Schmitter directs the day-to-day activities of Town affairs and coordinates the activities of Town Department heads.  

He directs the implementation of policies adopted by the Town Board and communicates with County, State, and Federal agencies on matters relating to Town management. 

Supervisor Schmitter chairs Town Board meetings and is one of its five voting members. He may call for Special Meetings of the Town Board as needed. As a voting member of the Board, he participates with the Councilpersons in the appointment of all non-elected employees other than highway workers. 

As Chief Fiscal Officer, the Supervisor works with the Town Manager and principal account clerk to prepare the initial draft of the annual budget for presentation to the Town Board. He signs all contracts authorized by the Town Board.  

The Town Supervisor represents the Town on the Seneca County Board of Supervisors.
